I then wanted to bring in a nutritive powerhouse so STINGING NETTLE LEAF was an obvious choice. I then wanted to make sure to add a good daily immune supportive herb so the gentle CALENDULA flower was invited for this reason as well as its gentle touch on any irritated tissues. I then brought in ROSEHIPS for their vitamin C rich reputation as well as its amazing flavor. MULLEIN is a well rounded but gentle respiratory herb great for congestion in the sinuses, bronchial and lungs. It helps the body get the gunk out all the while soothing irritated tissues with its demulscent properties. HYSSOP is a gently powerful antiviral expectorant herb I call upon often for making sure things don’t stick around in the little lungs. WILD CHERRY BARK has a very long history of tending to every respiratory symptoms from whooping cough to the croup to respiratory infections. I can’t say that this herb treats any of these things, but I can say that folks have called upon it repeatedly for 100s of years for good reason. ROSEHIPS are delicious, packed with Vitamin C and antiinflammatory so they are a must have in any children’s tea. THYME is the last ingredient that I hesitantly add because of flavor, but know that I must because of effect. I love this herb for respiratory issues needing to help dry up excess and move it along.
