8/24/19 Herbs for Anxiety and Depression {SOLD OUT}

SOLD OUT- If you would like to be placed on the waiting list for it, just email highgardentea@gmail.com and let me know!

While working as a Master’s Level psychotherapist for 6 years, I realized that the terms anxiety and depression have become far too common and accepted as a new normal for us.  Once we have reached this point, it oftentimes becomes overwhelming and seem as if we have lost hope of ever feeling our best selves again.  Through this awareness, I found herbalism ever so important to offer options for our mental and emotional wellbeing.  There are many herbal options available to us to help not only calm or lift us, but help reregulate the HPA axis which is the system governing the “fight or flight” response.  Herbs not only help in the moment and over time, but they also assist you while creating new behavioral patterns and change in your life to create positive steps forward.

In this class, I will discuss anxiety and depression as well as nervine herbs to help in the moment as well as adaptogenic herbs to help over a longer period of time.  Mental wellness and herbs are very much a matchmaking process.  We will discuss each herb and the person and symptom it is best suited to help.  Through learning this, you will then be better equipped to call upon the proper herbs at proper times as well as make combinations to address more than one symptom and need.

Skill level and Prerequisites: Skill level is intermediate.  Prerequisite is High Garden’s Intro to Herbalism Weekend Intensive or a comparable study.  One should have an overall understanding within the concepts of herbalism such as difference in herbal preparations as well as dosing in chronic vs. acute situations.  If you do not have this skill level and really want to attend, email me and I will give you recommended readings to be completed before  the class.
