GUT FEELING

from $6.25

This one has quickly become one of our most popular blends because of its incredible effectiveness. I created this after working with many folks dealing with digestive issues, including my own mother and father. Digestive issues are on the rise at an alarming rate and herbs can be incredibly helpful to this system. This blend offers support to the gastrointestinal tract by means of anti inflammatory, antispasmodic, and mucosal tissue tonifying herbs. This blend is most focused on bringing aid to the small intestine and lower bowel with leaky, inflamed, spasmodic, or irritated states.

Teaching Herbalism through the art of Tea:

I created this blend after working with many people for years, including my own parents, with bowel disorders including IBS, Ulcerative Colitis, Crohn’s Disease, and more. This of course is not intended to treat a particular disease as it is not a “drug,” but it does blend together antispasmodic, anti inflammatory, and tissue strengthening herbs that could be of benefit to a body dealing with these issues. I have found certain herbs extremely helpful over the years and created the most comprehensive blend I could bringing in herbs from different areas to address a variety of needs while all working together to create a synergy toward bowel health and wellness.

I included Wild Yam because it is probably my all time favorite intestinal antispasmodic which I have seen helpful in case after case. Cat’s Claw has been hailed for centuries as a powerful intestinal antiinflammatory by its native wisdom keepers in South and Central America. Sarsaparilla root was introduced to me as a wonderful intestinal anti inflammatory years by many herbal teachers and for good reason after seeing its effectiveness. I wanted to include an herb to help tighten and tone leaky, boggy tissues that have become this way due to inflammation. My first choice because of its well deserved reputation was yarrow. Pain often accompanies bowel issues so I included a pain relieving herb but wanted one that could offer more than just pain relief so I chose Meadowsweet. Meadowsweet not only offers pain relief when taken regularly, but it also has been shown to relieve gastric irritation brought on by medications such as NSAIDS or other irritants not to mention it is helpful with acidity issues. Some GI issues have an underlying allergy component so I included Turmeric for its ability to help stabilize mast cells and slowly over time facilitate a syste m to better deal with allergic reactions, but it also has been noted through Ayervedic tradition to have a powerful anti inflammatory effect. Calendula had to be included for its tissues tending nature and how beautifully it can soothe any irritated tissue it touches while Marshmallow root brings in a similar property in a slightly different way to assure this irritated tissue is properly soothed. Finally, I wanted to be sure that gas, cramps, and bloating were addressed so I brought in Fennel for its carminative effects and Catnip for its long standing reputation as a carminative and cramp calming herb. Catnip was even used for centuries to help babies with colic and can still be found in some infant care formulas for this reason. All blended together with one intention… to help that GI system.
