TEACHING HERBALISM THROUGH TEACRAFT:

Intentional Moment with the Earth Element: When I am reaching to the Earth for grounding, footing, strength, support, security, or belonging, I place my feet directly onto the ground. Feel the soil below my bare feet. I then close my eyes and invision roots slowly digging deep into the earth. I am stabilizing with these roots. I am connecting to the Earth’s heartbeat. I am bringing up much needed nourishment from the soil below. I offer gratitude, I recognize my place in the whole. I belong. Another exercise is to just lie upon the ground (or floor). Let it all go, release all control and feel that you are being held. You are supported at all times.

The herbs that I chose for this blend were each unique to the Earth element and bring their own wisdom. Dandelion root was invited because it embodies the earth in taste and action. Its rooty, earthiness offers our liver, a “wood” organ much nourishment. Dandelion root digs deep into the soil, not just to bring nourishment up to itself, but also to provide healing to the soil around it. Sarsaparilla root brings the sweetness of earth. The nurturing side of earth that also helps us get rid of things that don’t serve us in life so we can be our healthiest, strongest self. Its root is massive and knows grounding quite well. Eleuthero root not only knows the earth, but it knows harsh climates and change. When we need help getting through hard times and crave a safe space, Eleuthero root knows a thing or two about digging in and finding safety within the earth. Burdock’s large root goes deep into the earth, offering us “gut instinct” as well as the security to do what we feel is best. Beet root offers us nourishment and oat straw is a gentle earth wisdom keeper that strengthens and soothes our systems like a gentle hug.

Our Packaging

Our packaging is intentionally minimal and environmentally conscious.  The kraft bags holding our teas are recycled and compostable.  The inner lining is plant based and the outer layer is FDA approved recycled natural Kraft. Tin tie closures need to be removed prior to sending it to compost heap.

Our unbleached tea bags are sealed with a food grade staple and no chemical sealant.  Each is compostable, as well as the herbs inside, once staple is removed.  They love to return to the earth.

We are constantly seeking ways we can do better and lessen our impact.
