When do I think of Gotu Kola? When inflammation needs attention or if I just need some help paying attention. This is an herb I take almost everyday for its systemic anti-inflammatory effects which I find incredibly helpful for my own autoimmune issues. I certainly can’t say it would help anyone else, but it has helped me. It takes quite awhile to see its benefits but once they show, its wonderful. It has been known for centuries to offer strengthening to connective tissues and as a circulatory tonic. In Ayurvedic tradition, its been refered to as a rasayana (restorative and strengthening) and “brain tonic” by aiding circulation to the brain. One fancy word for its cerebral circulatory supportive effects is calling it a nootropic. Nice word- even nicer herb. I love this herb. For real. Love
