DARK ROAST IRON GODDESS OF MERCY

from $4.50

This deeply roasted Tieguanyin oolong creates a rich woodsy cup with smooth notes of coffee, cocoa, caramel and malt. Visually the leaves are very dark and smell heavily toasted, but the brew is actually a little softer, more medium bodied, with a sweet finish. Because it’s roasted to nearly 80% it naturally has a lower caffeine content which is great for anyone looking for a gentle lift, even later in the afternoon, or after they’ve already enjoyed several cups of more caffeinated tea or coffee but are craving one more brew. Everyone, of course, has different sensitivity levels to caffeine so I don’t recommend experimenting with this right before bed (:

I also love taking this tea with me when I go camping or hiking. It’s perfectly suited to being brewed around a campfire, but I also enjoy tossing some leaves into my water bottle (with cool water) and letting them gently unfurl and cold steep throughout a hike. So delicious and refreshing! And since the leaves are large it’s easy to drink from the water bottle while the leaves swirl freely inside without the need for a tea bag or special infuser.
