MATCHA of the MOON ~ Ceremonial Grade ~ 2024
Matcha of the Moon is one of the finest Matchas Japan produces…and if I had to choose a favorite…
This matcha is like velvet. Sweet and rich, mellow and deep. So green. Something to be experienced if you appreciate fine Matcha.
Matcha of the Moon is properly suitable for ceremony. This means that you can not only prepare this Matcha the typical way, Usucha (the way our directions below suggest), but you can also make Koicha from this Matcha. Koicha is the way it is prepared for ceremony and is quite strong as it involves twice the matcha powder (or more) and less water. It takes a premium ceremonial grade Matcha to properly make and enjoy this stronger method of preparation as it’s able to maintain a delicious smooth richness even while being so concentrated.
All our Matcha is shade grown for 20-30 days to create some of the most vibrant and smooth Matcha with a very high L-theanine content. This the amino acid found in the tea plant that has a brain soothing, uplifting quality and balances out the tea’s caffeine for a perfect stimulating alertness (:
Flavor profile & feel: Velvety rich, sweet cream, savory, deep & mellow.
Preparation:
Sift Matcha to break up any clumps. This step goes a long way in creating a rich frothy cup!
Add 1 tsp of Matcha to bowl.
Pour in 2 ½ - 4 oz of 150º-175º F water.
Whisk until a rich froth is created.
Enjoy immediately!
Tips: Use more or less water/matcha based on flavor and strength preference. Cooler temperature water creates a softer/sweeter cup.
All of our Japanese green teas come from a small farm in Uji, Kyoto, Japan. This area is widely regarded as one of the finest tea growing regions in the world and particularly famous for producing some of the best premium green teas like Gyokuro and Matcha.
Package details:
This package contains 40 grams (1.41 oz) of Matcha and is sealed and resealable. It was sealed at the garden and has never been opened for absolute freshness!
