SENCHA SUPERIOR ~ 2024

from $17.00

An excellent, high end, daily green tea, and an extremely good example of a classic Japanese Sencha. Good senchas, like this one, have a good blend of strength and smooth sweet drinkability.

Levels of tannin and theanine are very balanced in this one, so you’ll feel a hint of astringency to keep it refreshing, but it will still be balanced by a sweet umami finish.

Tasting Notes: This is a full bodied, strong but not harsh, wonderfully balanced quintessential Japanese green tea. Savory umami, a touch grassy bite (depending on how it’s steeped), maybe a hint of floral, and very very green.

Origin: Uji, Kyoto, Japan

Preparation: Use 1 full Tb per 8-12 oz of 175º water. Steep 45 seconds. Good for three delicious infusions.

{If this method is too strong, simply use a little less tea or a little more water}

Moderately Caffeinated
