Make that time of the month more tolerable
Purpose: Herbs called upon by women for centuries to aid in soothing spasmodic and painful cramping associated with menstruation. Best drank the moment the body begins to show signs of cramping and continued until full relief is achieved. I even like placing the warm tea cup upon my sacral region between sips to offer additional comfort.
Pick me if: You find menstruation to be more painful than what is ideal
Flavor profile: earthy, roots, bold, light mint, not gross/ not delicious but effective (check out the reviews)
Organic Ingredients: Wild Yam, Black Haw bark, Chamomile flower, Cramp bark, Jamaican Dogwood bark, Wood Betony aerials, Valerian root, Peppermint leaves, Lavender buds
Caffeine Free
Understanding the Ingredients: I have dealt with female reproductive issues since my first menses. Later learning it was endometriosis, uterine fibroids, ovarian cyst and more causing incredibly painful menstruation. Needless to say, once I dove into herbalism, I knew there had to be something out there for me besides taking the maximum amount of OTC relief I could for 5 days in a row. Through diligent study and lots of self practice, I finally perfected this recipe and eventually, years later, began sharing it with others. Everyone has their own experience with it but my own experience was going from needing maximum OTC support to only needed a minimum amount 1x day while drinking this tea. Others have shared similar experiences with me. What is happening in this blend is the Wild Yam, Cramp Bark, and Black Haw are brought in for their years of traditional use as a smooth muscle antispasmodics. Each work in slightly different ways offering their own expertise. Jamaican Dogwood has long been hailed as a soothing and relief inspiring herb. Wood Betony has been called quite relaxing from time to time as has Valerian root. Chamomile, Peppermint and Lavender all are incorporated into this blend for flavor, aromatic, and energetic properties.
I find that drinking this blend all day, as needed, renders the best results.
Not your ordinary teabag: Our hand-made teabags are large since they are a full portion to provide you with the intended benefit and desired support. Each one may be re-steeped several times throughout the day. The brewed tea may also be saved in the fridge over night and enjoyed chilled the following day. They are each handcrafted in perfect measurement within a microplastic free teabag and hand stapled with a stainless steel staple. This is slow craft herbalism with care.
{10 pack is 2.5oz and 3 pack is .75oz }
Loose leaf or bagged are both created in very small batches in our woodland teahouse from thoughtfully sourced ingredients and professionally formulated by Leah, owner and clinical herbalist.
HOW TO BREW:
Bagged: Use 1 tea bag per 16 oz of 200 ºF water. Begin drinking when temperature is comfortable but never remove tea bag. Add more hot water once the cup is finished for a second or third infusion for full benefit.
Loose Leaf: Use 1.5 Tb per 16 oz of 200 ºF water and steep a minimum of 15 minutes. Ideally pouring off bits of the tea as the rest continues to steep. I really enjoy placing loose leaf in a French press, pouring off the tea to drink, and recovering with more water for a full day infusion of full benefit.
The longer these herbs steep the better and more potent the herbal infusion will be. Add sweetness if you prefer.
Earth first packaging: Our packaging is intentionally minimal and environmentally conscious. The kraft bags holding our teas are 100% recycled and backyard compostable. Our teabags are compostable, as well as the herbs inside, once the staple is removed. They love to return to the earth. We are constantly seeking ways we can do better and lessen our impact.
