A tea for the adventurous
Purpose: Out of the ordinary savory tea that is incredibly nourishing, replenishing and oh so satisfying.
Pick me if: You want something that can curb a snack craving or even a lightweight nutritive tonic that can be enjoyed as a sipping broth or base for additions. Wonderful for hikers and backpackers.
Flavor profile: Salty, savory, earthy, gentle heat
Organic Ingredients: Roasted Dandelion root, Stinging Nettle leaf, Ginger root, Moringa leaf, Turmeric root, Reishi Mushroom, Habanero Smoked Sea Salt Caffeine free
Understanding the Ingredients: Sometimes I just want to sip on something savory and satisfying. A broth that's deeply nourishing. So I made it. Here we have Dandelion root as our all star liver tonic while Stinging Nettle leaf and Moringa leaf offer easy to absorb vitamins and minerals. Unlike synthetic vitamins, our bodies recognize these herbs as the food that they are and easily assimilates them especially since the water extraction helps enhance availability. Turmeric brings its well known gifts of tissue support and Reishi mushroom joins with its adaptogenic properties. All is nestled with ginger root and habanero sea salt to enhance the savory nature of this brew and add some electrolyte love.
Recipe ideas: Simply make as a sipping broth to help curb cravings and offer your body deep nourishment.
Use a cup of the tea as the water you cook rice in to make the rice outrageously flavorful and nutritive.
If backpacking, just carry the tea along to make into a broth and add foraged leaves, noodles, whatever accompaniments you would like for a beautiful wild dish.
Not your ordinary teabag: Our hand-made teabags are large since they are a full portion to provide you with the intended benefit and desired support. Each one may be re-steeped several times throughout the day. The brewed tea may also be saved in the fridge over night and enjoyed chilled the following day. They are each handcrafted in perfect measurement within a microplastic free teabag and hand stapled with a stainless steel staple. This is slow craft herbalism with care.
{10 pack is 2.5oz and 3 pack is .75oz }
Loose leaf or bagged are both created in very small batches in our woodland teahouse from thoughtfully sourced ingredients and professionally formulated by Leah, owner and clinical herbalist.
HOW TO BREW:
Bagged: Use 1 tea bag per 12 oz of 190ºF water. Begin drinking when temperature is comfortable but never remove tea bag. Add more hot water once the cup is finished for a second or third infusion for full benefit.
Loose Leaf: Use 1.5 Tb per 12 oz of 190ºF water and steep a minimum of 15 minutes. Ideally pouring off bits of the tea as the rest continues to steep. I really enjoy placing loose leaf in a French press, pouring off the tea to drink, and recovering with more water for a full day infusion of full benefit.
The longer these herbs steep the better and more potent the herbal infusion will be. Add sweetness if you prefer.
Earth first packaging: Our packaging is intentionally minimal and environmentally conscious. The kraft bags holding our teas are 100% recycled and backyard compostable. Our teabags are compostable, as well as the herbs inside, once the staple is removed. They love to return to the earth. We are constantly seeking ways we can do better and lessen our impact.
