Get Well is a beautiful combination of old world Granny Wisdom and modern research of constituents best suited to battle unwanted pathogens.

Purpose: To be in your kitchen cabinet the moment a bug hits and you need support.  It is a powerful combination of immune system nourishing, antiviral, antibacterial, and respiratory tonic herbs all brought together in a synergistic manner to create a very effective blend intended to offer support during illness and promote a speedy recovery.

Pick me if: You have caught something and it's got you down. Especially effective if the respiratory system is being affected.

Flavor profile: Minty, herbaceous, earthy, warming, effective

Organic Ingredients: Echinacea Purpurea leaf, Yarrow aerials, Peppermint leaf, Hyssop aerials, Elecampane leaf, Calendula flower, Barberry root, Ginger root, Oregano leaf, Thyme aerials Caffeine free

Understanding the Ingredients: I blended this to be the most comprehensive “get well” blend possible. Though viruses affect everyone differently and I do focus on tending to the person rather than the illness, each of these herbs carry so much wisdom, they will seek out and find what areas they most need to give aid. I included ELECAMPANE as not only an incredible expectorant and lung tonic but it also is helpful with intestinal issues. BARBERRY root is a berberine containing herb ready to help the body battle unwanted bacteria. YARROW is a diaphoretic (help release heat) while also offering tissue tonifying properties great for preventing intrusive bacteria into our tender tissues. ECHINACEA PURPUREA leaf is a highly effective immune system tonic noted in traditional use as well as modern studies to stimulate the secretory immune system (macrophage activity) as well as interferon, interleukin and NK cell production. GINGER is great to heat up any cold as well as mediate inflammatory response. HYSSOP has been hailed for centuries due to the fact that it not only is an expectorant (help remove sputum from the lung and bronchial tissues) but also a folk antiviral. I wanted to assure that your lymphatic system is tended too as it s a key part of immune response, so CALENDULA was my obvious choice. OREGANO and THYME are included as powerful antibacterial herbs with expectorant properties as well as mild antiviral properties. PEPPERMINT not only warms the body as it somehow seems to offer a cooling effect, it also aids with congestion and brings a lovely flavor. It's taken me almost 10 years to perfect this one and it is out of this world.

Not your ordinary teabag: Our hand-made teabags are large since they are a full portion/dose to provide you with the intended benefit and desired support. Not tiny bags, actual herbalism in tea form and the amount needed for action. Each one may be re-steeped several times throughout the day. The brewed tea may also be saved in the fridge over night and enjoyed chilled the following day. They are each handcrafted in perfect measurement within a microplastic free teabag and hand stapled with a stainless steel staple. This is slow craft herbalism with care.

{10 pack is 2.1oz and 3 pack is .63oz }

Loose leaf or bagged are both created in very small batches in our woodland teahouse from thoughtfully sourced ingredients and professionally formulated by Leah, owner and clinical herbalist.

HOW TO BREW:

Bagged:  Use 1 tea bag per 16 oz of 190 ºF water. Begin drinking when temperature is comfortable but never remove tea bag. Can recover several times with water for full benefit.

Loose Leaf: Use 1-1.5 Tb per 16 oz of 190 ºF water and steep a minimum of 30 minutes.  I really like placing loose leaf in a French press and pouring the tea off while recovering the herbs with water to allow an all day beverage with full steep power.

The longer these herbs steep the more potent the herbal infusion will be.  Add sweetness if you prefer.

Home Remedies: For a deep cough, I make an onion chest compress by heating onions just enough to get the scent flowing then place them in a cheesecloth and tie into a pack shape.  Place the pack on the chest assuring it's not hot enough to burn them.  Leave on for at least 10 minutes allowing them to smell the steam.  Our Breathe tea can also be very helpful.

If a cough is spastic and its hard to catch your breath, an in-the-moment trick is to either run a steamy shower and breathe in the steam or open the freezer and breathe in the cold air.  Spastic coughs tend to be an "irritative cough" due to inflamed tissues.  Our Porcupine herbal tea is most notable in this situation.

Please note- if a cough worsens or is accompanied by a fever, consult your physician.

If sinus congestion is an issue, our Sinus Steam is wonderful to offer antibacterial action as well as decongesting properties.  I also like to use a good Olive leaf or Propolis saline nasal spray.  We do not make this but there are many on the market.

Dont overlook the power of a good warm bath followed by blankets and rest.  Eat lightly as digestion takes alot of energy need to battle the pathogens.  Do not return to work too soon or the virus can replicate again causing what Granny Healers called a "back set" back in the day.  It's just where you used energy on something else too soon and your immune system wasn't allowed to fully beat the pathogen.

I am a plant wisdom keeper known as a clinical herbalist. Through the art of tea, I am passing on plant wisdom and teaching herbalism so you too can carry this ancient knowledge forward and feel more empowered toward regaining and maintaining your own whole body wellness.

Earth first packaging: Our packaging is intentionally minimal and environmentally conscious.  The kraft bags holding our teas are 100% recycled and backyard compostable.  Our teabags are compostable, as well as the herbs inside, once the staple is removed.  They love to return to the earth.  We are constantly seeking ways we can do better and lessen our impact.
