Purpose: To start the day the right way! A morning brew that is not only going to help awaken for the day, but also offer as much nourishment and health benefit as possible.
This isnt your typical “coffee alternative” just trying to replicate the flavor of coffee but with less acid and caffeine. It’s also not just a cup of green tea that leaves you wanting something a little bolder in the morning. This blend is in a class all its own. Bold, verdant, smooth and able to hold honey, sugar or milk of choice quite well.
Pick me if: You want something bright and healthy to start your day supporting energy, focus, clarity, and deep nourishment.
Flavor profile: verdant, grassy, earthy yet bright
Organic Ingredients: Green Yerba Mate, Stinging Nettle leaf, Matcha of the Dawn, Gotu Kola aerials Contains Caffeine
Understanding the Ingredients: I've given up coffee and crave something rich and bold in the morning but oftentimes not necessarily something roasty. I want something bold and verdant. And here it is. I blended green Yerba Mate in first because I love its antioxidant rich, energy gifting properties that also blends well with other herbs. I then added our Matcha of the Dawn because nothing wakes me up in the sweetest way than a good dash of Matcha. Because of its shade grown nature, it’s rich in L theanine, catechins such as EGCG, caffeine and more. I then wanted this to be an easily absorbed morning multivitamin so I added the one and only Stinging Nettle leaf. It’s my favorite easily absorbed multivitamin that our bodies recognize as the amazing food that it is. Naturally, I also wanted focus power to begin the day or even as a boost mid day so I brought in Gotu Kola, the nootropic circulatory powerhouse. So, as you see, this is no typical cup of coffee or tea- this is GOOD GREEN MORNING.
Note: Carries cream and sweetener of choice very well
Not your ordinary teabag: Our hand-made teabags are large since they are a full portion to provide you with the intended benefit and desired support. Each one may be re-steeped several times throughout the day. The brewed tea may also be saved in the fridge over night and enjoyed chilled the following day. They are each handcrafted in perfect measurement within a microplastic free teabag and hand stapled with a stainless steel staple. This is slow craft herbalism with care.
{10 pack is 2.5oz and 3 pack is .75oz }
Loose leaf or bagged are both created in very small batches in our woodland teahouse from thoughtfully sourced ingredients and professionally formulated by Leah, owner and clinical herbalist.
HOW TO BREW:
Bagged: Use 1 tea bag per 16 oz of 180ºF water. Begin drinking when temperature is comfortable but never remove tea bag. Add more hot water once the cup is finished for a second or third infusion for full benefit. So good with cream and sweetener of choice.
Loose Leaf: Use 1.5 Tb per 16 oz of 180ºF water and steep a minimum of 10 minutes. Ideally pouring off bits of the tea as the rest continues to steep. I really enjoy placing loose leaf in a French press, pouring off the tea to drink, and recovering with more water for a full day infusion of full benefit. So good with cream and sweetener of choice.
The longer these herbs steep the better and more potent the herbal infusion will be. Add sweetness if you prefer.
Earth first packaging: Our packaging is intentionally minimal and environmentally conscious. The kraft bags holding our teas are 100% recycled and backyard compostable. Our teabags are compostable, as well as the herbs inside, once the staple is removed. They love to return to the earth. We are constantly seeking ways we can do better and lessen our impact.
